My name is Katie Fischer and I am excited to be your VMEPC President for the 2025-26 school year.  My husband Andrew and I moved to Van Meter in 2018. We have 3 kids, Braeden (5th), Madilynn (2nd) and Josephine (Preschool). We came to Van Meter for the small school district and amazing community surrounding it. I have been involved in VMEPC since the 2021-22 school year and love it! As someone who was new to the district it was a great way for me to meet teachers, other parents and learn more about our school and how it all works. If you can’t volunteer, I recommend coming to meetings so you can hear what is going on from Mr. Tibbetts, learn from the teachers and build connections with others in the district.

I’m grateful for a community and school that cares about the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of our kids. The VMEPC allows us to all come together as an additional support system to the kids in our community and see them thrive. It’s truly an honor to be part of it!

 My name is Leah Haywood. My husband Eric and I moved to Van Meter for the school district when my daughter was entering TK, 7 years ago. It's been a great decision, and we now have a third grader (Cruz) and a 5th grader (Ari). I started coming to VMEPC meetings in 2020, to meet other parents and keep a pulse on new and upcoming things at the school. I love being involved in the decision making that impacts my Bulldogs' elementary experience-field trips, classroom supplies, new technology, teacher appreciation, etc. We'd love to have you join us!

   My name is Brandy Christianson and I am excited to join the VMEPC as your President Elect for the 2025-26 school year.  My husband and I joined the Van Meter community in 2017 with our 3 boys, Lane (8th), Elliott (5th) and Leo (3rd).  When deciding where we wanted to raise a family, community was a big part of that and Van Meter felt like the perfect place.  The VMEPC is a wonderful way to meet new parents, stay up to date on what's happening within our school and give back to the teachers/staff.  There is nothing like the Van Meter community and I hope you choose to join us!
